Collector Anand Mohan connected Monday released h2o from Papanasam Dam for the upcoming ‘kar’ play paddy cultivation successful Tirunelveli district.

Mr. Anand Mohan, aft releasing h2o from the reservoir, said 1,935 acres of onshore successful Vickramasingapuram, Sivanthipuram, Adaiyakarunkulam and Kodarankulam villages would payment from the h2o released successful Vadakku Kodaimelazhagiyaan Channel, and 870 acres successful Chettimedu, Aladiyoor and Ermaalpuram would get h2o from Therkku Kodaimelazhagiyaan Channel.

The h2o released successful Nadhiyunni Channel would payment 2,460 acres of onshore successful Mela Ambasamudram, Keezha Ambasamudram and Brammadesam villages. Water from Kannadiyan Channel would irrigate different 5,000 acres successful Kallidaikurichi, Veeravanallur and Kaarukurichi villages.

In all, 10,265 acres of onshore nether 4 irrigation channels of Tamirabharani Basin would get benefited by the h2o to beryllium released for 124 days – till October 2 - this year.
