Two men were arrested successful Chennai for assaulting a lorry operator and robbing him of currency astatine Vyasarpadi.

According to the police, Pandian (50), a autochthonal of Pudukkottai district, has been moving arsenic a lorry operator and staying adjacent the railway goods shed astatine Korukkupet Two different lorry drivers, Parthasarathy and Poovarasan, who are besides moving astatine the aforesaid goods shed, has been often harassing Pandian by demanding wealth from him.

On Saturday (November 8, 2025) morning, portion Pandian was astatine the railway goods shed, some Parthasarathy and Poovarasan approached him again and demanded money. When Pandian refused, they verbally abused him, assaulted him, and threatened him by holding a weapon to his neck. They past snatched ₹500 from his garment pouch and fled the scene.

Police arrested the suspects — Parthasarathy alias Sarathi (30) and Poovarasan (26), some residents of Mullai Nagar, Vyasarpadi. Investigations revealed that Parthasarathy already has 5 transgression cases against him, portion Poovarasan has one.
