Three persons were killed and 2 sustained grievous injuries aft a two-wheeler, mini truck, and a lorry collided connected a flyover successful Namakkal connected Tuesday (January 27, 2026).
The deceased were identified arsenic Wasim (30), a nonmigratory of Karnataka, Karthick (25) of Ganesapuram and Senathipathy (21) of Jai Nagar.
According to the police, Wasim came to Tiruchi successful a mini motortruck to present vegetables. After unloading the vegetables, helium was headed to Karnataka with gunny bags successful the truck. While helium reached the flyover connected Namakkal-Tiruchi Road astir 6 a.m. connected Tuesday, the mini motortruck collided with a lorry that came from the other side. At that time, a two-wheeler that came down the mini motortruck besides collided with the truck, and the gunny bags fell implicit them. In the accident, painters Senathipathy, Karthick and Akash (22), a nonmigratory of Kosavampatti, travelling connected the two-wheeler; Wasim, the mini motortruck driver; and Rajesh (45), a nonmigratory of Karnataka, the lorry driver, sustained grievous injuries.
Wasim, Karthick and Senathipathy died connected the spot. Akash and Rajesh were admitted to Namakkal Government Hospital.
Due to the accident, postulation question connected the flyover was affected for much than an hour. The Namakkal constabulary registered a lawsuit and are investigating further.
