New IG of Central Zone takes charge

V. Balakrishnan assumed complaint arsenic the Inspector-General of Police, Central Zone, present connected Friday. He replaced IG Joshi Nirmal Kumar who has been transferred and posted to Chennai.  Prior to assuming complaint arsenic the caput of the Central Zone, Mr. Balakrishnan was IG Administration, Chennai. This is Mr. Balakrishnan’s 2nd stint arsenic IG of Central Zone arsenic helium had served successful this station from June 2021 to June 2022.

A 2003 batch IPS officer, Mr. Balakrishnan, a station postgraduate successful Agriculture and a PG successful Human Rights from the University College of London, had earlier served arsenic Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Tiruchi Range.  He had served successful Madurai, Tiruvannamalai, TIruppur, and Theni districts arsenic Superintendent of Police.
