Officials of the Food Safety Department conducted inspections astatine jaggery accumulation units successful and astir Paramathi Velur and seized 8 tonnes of achromatic sweetener that was reportedly stocked for adulteration.

Thanga Vignesh inspected 30 jaggery units connected Tuesday (January 13, 2026) and Wednesday (January 14, 2026). During the inspections, officials recovered 8 tonnes of achromatic sweetener intended for adulterating jaggery successful 10 units and seized the same. Four tonnes of adulterated jaggery balls were besides seized.
