The erstwhile Inspector General of Police, A.G. Ponn Manickavel has lodged a ailment of theft and misappropriation of a ‘Parvathi idol’ from Thiruppalanam colony temple, with the Thiruvaiyaru police.

Disclosing this to the media present connected March 27, Mr. Manickavel said that the idol was smuggled from Sri Abathsagayeswarar temple, Thiruppalanam, successful Thanjavur territory to USA and present displayed astatine Sothebys’ Auction House, New York for an auction terms of ₹8 crores to commencement with.
