Delhi HC pulls up Centre for failing to provide timeline on filling vacancies in minorities panel

The Delhi High Court connected Friday (March 20, 2026) pulled up the Centre for failing to supply a "timeline" for completing the process of appointments the vacant posts of chairperson and members successful the National Commission for Minorities (NCM).

Noting that it had earlier sought an affidavit specifically connected the timeline for filling the vacancies, a Bench of Chief Justice D.K. Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia asked the Deputy Secretary successful the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs to explicate the lapse wrong 2 weeks.
