11 students arrested and 12 kg cannabis seized in Mangaluru

Acting connected accusation shared by radical by scanning a QR codification that was circulated to colleges, the Mangaluru constabulary connected Friday arrested 11 second-year BBA students and seized 12.264 kg of cannabis that they possessed.

The constabulary gave the names of the accused arsenic Adwait Shrikant, Mohammed Apsin, Mohammed Swanid, Nibin T. Kurian, K.K. Mohammed, Mohammed Hanan, Mohammed Shamil, Arun Thomas, C. Mohammed Nihal, V. Mohammed Zasil, and P. Sidhan.

In a property statement, the constabulary said a squad led by Mangaluru South constabulary sub-inspector Sheetal Alagur raided a level successful Kings Court flat astatine Kaprigudde successful Attavar and seized 7 packets containing 12.264 kg of cannabis worthy ₹2.45 lakh.

The accused had procured cannabis from Odisha. The constabulary besides seized 2 integer weighing machines and 11 mobile phones from the accused.

A lawsuit was registered against the accused for offences nether Sections 8 (c) and 22 (b)(ii)(c) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
