Workshop held on marine mammal–fishery interaction, conservation

The ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), successful relation with the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), organised a store and consciousness programme connected Marine Mammal–Fishery Interaction and Conservation astatine the Village Resource Centre of MSSRF, Thangachimadam, present connected Wednesday.

The programme was conducted nether the Marine Mammal Stock Assessment successful India task funded by the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).

Chinnakuppan, Deputy Director of Fisheries, Ramanathapuram, aft inaugurating the event, emphasised the conservation value of dugongs and highlighted their captious relation successful maintaining the wellness of coastal and seagrass ecosystems.
