To code recurring flooding successful Ambattur Industrial Estate and Korattur, the Water Resources Department (WRD) has started constructing a transmission to divert surplus h2o from Ambattur Lake to the Cooum river.

The Ambattur Lake is portion of the cascade of waterbodies that yet nexus floodwater to Madhavaram Retteri Lake. The water receives surplus h2o from tanks upstream, including successful Paruthipattu and Ayyapakkam.
