Villupuram Member of Parliament D. Ravikumar has urged the Union authorities to retreat the Draft Indian Statistical Institute Bill, 2025, released by Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
In a missive addressed to Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation (Independent charge) Rao Inderjit Singh, Mr. Ravikumar said the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), founded successful 1931 by Prof. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, was accorded the the presumption of an “Institution of National Importance” nether the Indian Statistical Institute Act, 1959.
