More than a 1,000 authorities employees are presently engaged successful the catastrophe absorption and alleviation operations successful the landslide-ravaged regions successful Wayanad district, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s bureau said connected August 4.

“Specially-assigned teams are handling matters related to the bodies recovered from the landslide-hit regions,” Mr. Vijayan’s bureau said. This includes their recognition and hand-over to household members and cremation of unclaimed bodies and the paperwork related to autopsies.

“Government departments dealing with the catastrophe absorption and rescue operations are filing regular reports to the State government,” Mr. Vijayan’s bureau said.
