Waqf Board not to be reconstituted until Supreme Court pronounces final verdict: T.N. Minister

Minister for Minorities Welfare and Non-Resident Tamils Welfare S.M. Nasar connected Saturday (September 27, 2025) said that the Waqf Board would not beryllium reconstituted successful Tamil Nadu until a last judgement is pronounced successful the pending cases challenging the Waqf (Amendment) Act of 2025.

In a statement, helium said the DMK and assorted others had challenged the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, earlier the Supreme Court, which past passed an interim bid connected September 15.

In its interim order, the Supreme Court stayed definite provisions of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, portion upholding the Act.

Mr. Nasar assured that the Waqf Board would not beryllium reconstituted successful Tamil Nadu arsenic per the amended Act, which helium claimed was hastily implemented by the Centre, until the Supreme Court pronounces its last verdict.
