Residents of 2 villages from Srivaikundam Taluk connected Monday submitted a petition to Collector K. Elambahavath appealing to him to allot lands for burial and cremation ground.

The villagers from Nalangudi nether Keezhpidaagai Varadharajapuram panchayat and Sundarapandiapuram nether Thiruppuliyangudi panchayat, some nether Srivaikundam block, said they were mostly palmyra histrion climbers and had been surviving successful the 2 villages for the past 7 generations. Even though Nalangudi and Sundarapandiapuram housed 200 families, they had not been allotted a burial and cremation crushed contempt repeated petitions submitted to officials.
