Village Administrative Officer arrested for accepting bribe in Nagapattinam

A Village Administrative Officer (VAO) was arrested by officials of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) successful Nagapattinam territory connected Wednesday connected charges of demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹30,000 for recommending a patta transfer.

The complainant, Thambiappan ,53, of Therkupoigainallur colony successful Nagapattinam taluk, had alleged that the accused, Sabarinathan, 34, the VAO of Therkupoigainallur, demanded wealth for processing and recommending his patta transportation application.

Based connected the complaint, a trap was laid by the DVAC officials. When the accused allegedly accepted the bribe amount, helium was caught and subsequently arrested. He was produced earlier a court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
