Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has resigned arsenic subordinate elected from Tiruchi East constituency to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.

Mr. Vijay’s Cabinet colleagues K.A. Sengottaiyan and P. Venkataramanan handed implicit his resignation to Principal Secretary of the Legislative Assembly K. Srinivasan connected Sunday (May 10, 2026), an authoritative connection said.

During the caller Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Mr. Vijay was elected from Perambur and Tiruchi East constituencies to the Assembly. The resignation volition necessitate a bypoll to Tiruchi East constituency.
