V. O. C. Port receives first clinker vessel under MoU with Ambuja cement

V. O. C. Port received the archetypal clinker consignment successful nexus with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Ambuja Cement Limited, Gujarat, arsenic portion of the Minimum Guaranteed Tonnage-based Incentive Scheme for coastal clinkers.

The MoU ensures coastal question of 2,50,000 metric tonnes of clinker annually.

As portion of this MoU commitment, the vas MV Lima Trader was berthed astatine NCB-II. It carried 56,440 metric tonnes of coastal clinker from Sanghi port, Gujarat.

The clinker volition beryllium transported by roadworthy to Ambuja’s grinding portion astatine Mela Arasadi, located 24 km from the port.

Susantha Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson said that the landmark shipping is simply a large measurement toward sustainable and cost-effective coastal transportation, aligning with the Government of India’s imaginativeness for promoting coastal shipping. He added that much clinker vessels are expected to get astatine the larboard nether this MoU, further strengthening cargo volumes and reinforcing the larboard and manufacture partnership.
