Kerala’s Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan has written to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, questioning the State government’s rationale for calling a peculiar sitting of the Kerala Legislative Assembly connected November 1, 2025.

On Saturday (October 18, 2025), Mr. Satheesan accused the authorities of “throwing governmental propriety to the winds” by wilfully keeping the Opposition successful the acheronian astir the “so-called urgency” to convene the Assembly connected a play holiday. 

He said Rule 13(2) mandated that the authorities question the Assembly’s authorisation earlier convening a league connected a holiday. However, the erstwhile sitting of the Assembly had neither taken specified a determination nor debated the matter. 

Mr. Satheesan stated that, ideally, the Treasury benches should person mooted a solution to clasp a peculiar sitting successful November arsenic a continuation of the 15th league of the Assembly, which concluded connected October 9.
