U.S. to suspend visa processing for 75 nations next week: Reports

The Trump medication is suspending ‍all visa processing for ​visitors from 75 countries starting ‌January 21, 2026,​ Fox News reported connected Wednesday (January 14, 2026), citing a memo from the U.S. State Department.

Somalia, Russia, Iran, Afghanistan, Brazil, Nigeria, Thailand are among ​the affected countries, ⁠according to the report.

Representatives for the State Department did not ​immediately respond to ⁠a petition for remark connected the reported memo, which Fox News said ‌directs U.S. embassies to ‌refuse visas nether existing instrumentality portion the ‍department reassesses its procedures. No clip framework was ‍provided.

The reported intermission comes amid the sweeping migration crackdown pursued by Republican U.S. President Donald Trump since taking bureau successful January 2025.

In November, Trump ⁠had vowed to "permanently pause" migration from each "Third World ​Countries" pursuing a shooting adjacent ⁠the White House by an Afghan nationalist that killed a National Guard member.
