Ramanathapuram constabulary arrested 2 men present connected Sunday greeting for attempting to smuggle 12 cartons of mosquito repellent incense sticks to Sri Lanka via boat.
Police said, erstwhile Q subdivision constabulary inspector Janaki on with her squad were patrolling Cherankottai coastal area, they noticed 2 men trying to unload parcels from a vehicle.
The constabulary squad learnt that determination were 720 boxes of mosquito repellent incense sticks which they were readying to smuggle into Sri Lanka.
D. Muneeshkumar, 21, and S. Eswaramoorthy, 27, of Rameswaram, were secured by the constabulary team. Upon investigating, they learned 12 cartons of mosquito repellent incense sticks were brought to the seashore to smuggle them illegally to Sri Lanka via boat.
They had already hidden the goods adjacent the seashore and they had planned to usage their ain unregistered fiberglass boat, which was moored adjacent Arichalmunai, to load the goods and transport them to Sri Lanka.
Following this, they were arrested and the products were seized and handed implicit to the Customs Department.
