The Ayyampuzha constabulary arrested 2 persons from West Bengal with 37 kg of suspected ganja. The arrested are Sahidul Islam, 30, of Malda and Muhammed Anbar, 30, Murshidabad.
The duo were nabbed by a peculiar squad led by Perumbavoor ASP Hardik Meena astir 6:30 p.m. connected Friday (December 19, 2025) astatine Olive Mount adjacent Ayyampuzha.
They had allegedly trafficked the suspected narcotic point from Odisha to Aluva by train. The constabulary intercepted them erstwhile they were transporting the point from Aluva by an autorickshaw. Though they tried to tally away, the cops chased them down, the constabulary said.
Islam was arrested earlier this twelvemonth with 16 kg of suspected ganja by the Kalady police.
