Two persons were killed erstwhile a goods van rammed the autorickshaw they were travelling successful adjacent Tiruvallur connected Thursday.
Police sources said the goods van, carrying robust rods for construction, was heading towards Tiruttani from Chennai. While travelling on the Chennai-Tirupati National Highway bypass adjacent Tiruvallur, the van rammed the autorickshaw.
The interaction was truthful terrible that the autorickshaw was wholly mangled. The van operator fled the scene.
Two persons — Jayaprakas, 30, of Manjankaranai adjacent Periyapalaiyam, and Jeganathan, 40, of Erikkupam, who were successful the autorickshaw, died connected the spot.
Pullarambakkam constabulary recovered the bodies, and sent them to Tiruvallur Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
