Two Delhi University colleges received weaponry menace e-mails aboriginal connected Wednesday, starring to evacuation and suspension of classes earlier they were declared hoaxes, said a constabulary officer.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Raja Banthia said Ramjas College and Deshbandhu College reported receiving threatening e-mails astir 1.59 a.m., claiming bombs had been planted connected the campus.

Teams from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, Delhi Fire Services, and Delhi Police were rushed, which combed the campuses and recovered nary suspicious objects, the DCP said.

“We instantly vacated the assemblage and asked the students to spell backmost home,” said Ajay Arora, Ramjas College principal, adding that applicable exams scheduled for Wednesday had to beryllium cancelled.

The constabulary said that the sender of the hoax email was yet to beryllium identified.
