The metropolis constabulary arrested 2 persons successful Muthialpet and seized 800 grams of methamphetamine, 2 mobile phones and a two-wheeler.
Based connected a tip-off received by the inspector of Muthialpet constabulary station, constabulary unit conducted surveillance adjacent the junction of Mannady Street and Thambu Chetty Street connected Wednesday (June 17, 2026) morning. During the operation, they apprehended Abdul Jabbar (42) of S.M. Kovil Street, Royapuram, who was allegedly successful possession of methamphetamine for amerciable sale. Police seized 100 grams of methamphetamine and a mobile telephone from him.
Based connected accusation provided by Abdul Jabbar during interrogation, constabulary subsequently arrested the main accused, Abdul Naser (63) of Saiva Muthiah Street, Mannady. From his possession, officers seized 700 grams of methamphetamine, a mobile phone, a two-wheeler and bare integrative covers allegedly utilized for packaging the drug.
Investigation revealed that Abdul Naser, on with his associates, had allegedly procured methamphetamine successful bulk and supplied it to Abdul Jabbar for organisation and sale. Both the accused were produced earlier a tribunal and remanded to judicial custody.
Police said efforts are nether mode to hint and apprehension different absconding suspects linked to the case.
