Two arrested for bid to snatch over 1 kg gold at Coimbatore railway station

The Ukkadam constabulary connected May 29, 2026, (Friday) arrested 2 persons for attempting to snatch a container containing 1.1 kg of golden ornaments from an worker of a jeweller astatine the Coimbatore railway presumption connected Wednesday (May 27). The constabulary said that Tirunelveli natives Isakkipandi (23) and Ayyappan (22) were arrested from the city.

The constabulary said that Murugesan and Saravanan, who worked for jeweller Balaji of Ponnaiahrajapuram, arrived astatine the railway presumption by a bid from Chennai astir 6.30 a.m. connected Wednesday. Mr. Balaji was waiting successful a car adjacent to the rear gross of the railway presumption to prime them up.

As Mr. Murugesan and Mr. Saravanan came adjacent to the car, Isakkipandi,  Ayyappan and different antheral approached them connected a two-wheeler. The constabulary recovered that 2 accomplices of Isakkipandi and Ayyappan tailed Mr. Murugesan and Mr. Saravanan from Chennai to Coimbatore connected the aforesaid train.
