Chirping birds, a pleasant greeting breeze, and nature’s gentle awakening are not what greet the residents of Ward 76 successful Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam — besides known arsenic the ‘City of Destiny’. Instead, mornings present usually statesman with the foul stench of garbage emanating from trucks lining up en way to the Garbage Transfer Station (GTS), operated by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC).

Though officially designated arsenic a transportation station, locals picture it arsenic thing much than a dumping yard. Spread crossed 9 acres, the installation receives hundreds of tonnes of discarded regular earlier it is transported to Kapuluppada, the city’s main dumping site.
