Transport department officials inspect buses of educational institutions

The Transport section connected Saturday launched a two-day inspection of buses owned by each acquisition institutions to cheque roadworthiness of the vehicles earlier the reopening of schools and colleges aft the summertime break. 

Led by District Collector A. Kulothungan and Transport Commissioner Aman Sharma, officials of the department, including centrifugal conveyance inspectors, conducted the inspection of vehicles astatine Mettupalayam. 

Mr. Sharma said the inspection was held to ascertain the fittingness of the vehicles. The squad would look for 14 parameters, including whether the conveyance has got the mandatory colour coding, details of the institutions imprinted, installed GPS, velocity governors, occurrence extinguishers, provided horizontal railings for windows and exigency exits earlier certifying the roadworthiness of the vehicles.

“Those vehicles lacking successful immoderate of the parameters would not suffice for certification. We volition nonstop them backmost and springiness different day for inspection,” Mr. Sharma told The Hindu
