Members of the Manithaneya Varthagargal Nala Sangam submitted a petition to the District Collector connected Monday, urging to notify the commercialized stretches adjacent Main Guard Gate arsenic vending zones to safeguard the livelihood of roadside vendors.

Association territory portion president A. Kabir Ahmed said successful the petition that the Tiruchi Corporation’s program to displacement the roadside vendors from engaged commercialized areas to designated vending zones could scuttle their livelihood. Over 500 roadside vendors and hawkers person been operating for years on NSB Road, Teppakulam, Vannarapettai, Chatiram Bus Stand, West Bolevard Road, Singarathope, Big Bazaar Street, and surrounding areas.

He appealed to authorities to see allotting shops astatine Yanaikulam Grounds arsenic an alternate and let the vendors to proceed trading astatine their existent locations until a due abstraction is provided.
