TNAU disburses ₹64.4 lakh in grants to agri-startups to boost innovation

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) connected Friday disbursed grants to tune of ₹ 64.4 lakh nether the Central Government’s RKVY-RAFTAAR strategy (Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana - Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation) to incubatees of its Agribusiness Incubation Society- Technology Business Incubator (ABIS-TBI).

The backing for agri-startups, being carried retired successful TNAU since 2019 nether the flagship strategy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, is meant for strengthening infrastructure successful agriculture and allied sectors by gathering agripreneurship and agri-business ecosystem successful the country.

So far, the 131 startups successful the university’s TBI person received ₹ 16.04 crore arsenic grants.

Thamizh Vendan, acting Vice -Chancellor, TNAU, handed implicit assistance magnitude of ₹40.80 lakh for 10 SAIP (Start-up Agri-Business Incubation Programme) Cohort IV Grantees arsenic 3rd instalment, and ₹23.60 lakh for 13 AOP (Agripreneurship Orientation Programme) Cohort V Grantees arsenic 2nd instalment.

The initiative, Prof. Thamizh Vendan, said, has paved mode supporting innovations to instrumentality caller technologies for sustainable and profitable agribusiness.
