TN govt. sanctions ₹3,500 crore for Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam programme

The Tamil Nadu authorities has accorded administrative authorisation for ₹3,500 crore for the operation of 1 lakh much houses nether the Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam programme for 2025-26.

While ₹1,000 crore would beryllium from the Scheme Component of Pooled Assigned Revenue (SCPAR), ₹1,000 crore would beryllium from the Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) devolution grants and ₹1,500 crore would beryllium from the State grant, according to the G.O. issued in this respect by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.

In March 2024, the State authorities sanctioned ₹3,100 crore (unit outgo of ₹3.10 lakh) for the operation of 1 lakh caller houses nether the Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam programme for 2024-25.

In March 2025, the State authorities sanctioned ₹3,500 crore (unit outgo of ₹3.50 lakh) for the operation of 1 lakh caller houses under the Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam programme for 2025-26.

In January this year, the Chief Minister made an announcement successful the Assembly that 1 lakh much houses would beryllium constructed nether the under the Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam programme astatine a total cost of ₹3,500 crore.
