Three reserve constabulary unit from Bengaluru were killed and 2 others earnestly injured aft the car they were travelling successful rammed into a lorry adjacent Heggare colony successful Challakere taluk of Chitradurga territory connected Sunday (March 15, 2026).
The deceased person been identified arsenic Manjunath, Amaresh, and Sachin, each serving arsenic Reserve Sub-Inspectors successful the Bengaluru police.
According to police, the mishap occurred erstwhile the car travelling from Bengaluru towards Ballari crashed into the rear of a lorry adjacent Heggare village. The interaction of the collision was severe, leaving the car wholly mangled.
Two others travelling successful the car, identified arsenic Mahantesh and Eshwar, besides RSIs sustained superior injuries successful the accident. They were rushed to Basaveshwara Hospital successful Chitradurga, wherever they are undergoing treatment.
Preliminary accusation suggests that the radical of constabulary unit was travelling from Bengaluru to Ballari to be a friend’s wedding erstwhile the mishap took place.
Challakere constabulary visited the spot, conducted an inspection and registered a case. Further probe is underway.
