Three missing Cuddalore fishermen traced

Three fishermen of Cuddalore territory who were reported missing aft they acceptable sail for sportfishing connected June 3 were traced adjacent Nallavadu connected Monday.

The fishermen - each from Indira Nagar successful Bhuvanagiri ventured into the oversea successful a fibre vessel from the landing centre astatine Annan Kovil.

Official sources said though the fishermen were owed to instrumentality connected June 4, their vessel suffered a mechanical nonaccomplishment astir 19 nautical miles from the landing centre and was near adrift.

Based connected a petition from the Cuddalore territory administration, the Coast Guard deployed 2 vessels and a chopper to the country for the search. Strong winds had pushed the vessel northwards and it was located successful the Nallavadu country adjacent the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry border.

The 3 fishermen were brought ashore and taken to the Cuddalore Government General Hospital.
