Three fishermen rescued, one missing after fibre boat capsizes off Kodiyakarai coast

A fibre boat, with 4 fishermen from Nagapattinam connected board, that ventured into the oversea connected Monday (May 25, 2026) day capsized a fewer nautical miles disconnected the Kodiyakarai coast. Three fishermen were rescued, portion the different is missing.

Police sources said a hunt was launched and the fibre vessel was recovered capsized a fewer nautical miles off Point Calimere. Three fishermen who were holding connected to the overturned vessel were rescued by Kodiyakarai fishermen. They were brought to the enactment connected Tuesday greeting and taken to the Vedaranyam Government Hospital. 

The rescued fishermen are: M. Selvaganapathi (30), P. Pothuvudaichelvan (27), and V. Kumar (40) – each from Kodiyakadu. S. Anbuselvan (44) of Kodiyakarai has been reported missing.
