Following a petition from the Tamil Nadu authorities to unbend the permissible moisture contented for paddy procurements successful presumption of dense rains, the Union authorities has deputed 3 teams of officials to measure the factual presumption by drafting paddy samples from affected districts.
The samples are to beryllium analysed successful laboratories of the Food Corporation of India successful Tamil Nadu and a consolidated study on with the recommendations of the associated teams is to beryllium sent to the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution for further action.
The Tamil Nadu authorities had earlier this week requested the Union authorities for expanding the permissible moisture content for paddy procurement from 17% to 22%, successful presumption of the dense rains received successful assorted parts of the State.
