Three persons were arrested successful Nandambakkam connected Tuesday for allegedly smuggling and distributing banned gutka products. The constabulary seized 112.7 kg of gutka packets, a car, a two-wheeler and 2 mobile phones from the accused.

The arrested persons were identified arsenic George Jegadish, 40, of MGR Nagar, Raja, 42, of MGR Nagar, and Shanmugasundaram, 43, of Perungudi. Further enquiry revealed that George Jegadish had 2 transgression cases pending against him.
