T.N. govt. has provided relief to monsoon, cyclone-affected farmers: Minister

The Tamil Nadu authorities has issued orders connected Wednesday to supply alleviation to the tune of ₹111.96 crore to farmers, whose crops successful astir 56,226 hectares were affected during the Northeast monsoon and Ditwah cyclone during 2025-26, Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare M.R.K. Panneerselvam said connected Wednesday.

In a statement, the Minister rejected the contentions made by PMK person Anbumani Ramadoss a fewer days agone criticizing the State government. He said that alleviation to the tune of ₹289.63 crore has been distributed to farmers whose crops successful 2.29 lakh hectare were affected during the Northeast monsoon successful 2024 and successful 2025.

Criticising the erstwhile AIADMK authorities implicit sanctioning alleviation for farmers, the Minister said it was the DMK authorities that has provided alleviation to the tune of ₹1,631.53 crore to implicit 20.84 lakh affected farmers during the past 4 years.

Mr. Panneerselvam listed retired the assorted measures undertaken by the DMK authorities towards the payment of farmers and criticised the erstwhile AIADMK regime, erstwhile helium claimed that the cultivation accumulation was less.
