Surveys sanctioned for four new railway lines in Andhra Pradesh, says Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said successful the Lok Sabha connected Wednesday that surveys had been sanctioned for mentation of DPRs for caller lines betwixt Machilipatnam and Narsapur (74 km), Repalle and Bapatla (46 km), Gudur and Vijayawada (4th enactment measuring 293 km), and Vijayawada bypass (Indupalli-Duggirala - 49 km) to amended connectivity successful the region.

Apart from this, a survey for operation of a 45.30-km-long caller railway enactment betwixt Machilipatnam and Repalle had been sanctioned to supply nonstop and shorter connectivity betwixt the 2 towns.

“The survey is underway for the involvement of mentation of a DPR,” helium said successful reply to a question asked by Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashowry.

The Union Minister said Machilipatnam and Repalle were already connected via Vijayawada Junction connected the existing railway network, and the doubling of Machilipatnam-Gudivada-Vijayawada enactment had been completed recently, and it would amended the connectivity to Machilipatnam port.

Mr. Vaishnaw said, arsenic connected April 1, 2025, 39 projects (12 caller lines and 27 doubling), covering a full magnitude of 4,498 km falling afloat / partially successful Andhra Pradesh and costing astir ₹70,231 crore, had been sanctioned. Of them, 1,179-km of lines had been commissioned and an expenditure of ₹28,039 crore incurred up to March 2025.
