Supreme Court notice to Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah on plea challenging his election from Varuna constituency in 2023

The Supreme Court connected Monday (December 8, 2025) sought effect from Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah connected a plea challenging his predetermination from the Varuna Assembly constituency successful the 2023 State elections.

A Bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta issued announcement to Mr. Siddaramaiah seeking his reply connected a plea filed by 1 K. Shankara.

“Issue notice,” the Bench said.

Mr. Shankara has moved the Supreme Court challenging an April 22 bid of the Karnataka High Court which dismissed his plea seeking to state the predetermination of Mr. Siddaramaiah from the Varuna Assembly constituency arsenic void.

The petitioner alleged that Mr. Siddaramaiah had indulged successful corrupt signifier nether the proviso of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

The High Court had dismissed Mr. Shankara’s predetermination petition.
