The Supreme Court connected Saturday (May 2, 2026) said nary further bid was indispensable connected the TMC’s plea challenging the Calcutta High Court’s dismissal of its petition against an Election Commission of India (ECI) circular connected the deployment of Central Government unit for ballot counting successful West Bengal.

The apical tribunal noted the ECI’s connection that counting officers for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections are selected from some Central and State Government services, arsenic per the April 13 circular from the Additional Chief Electoral Officer.
