A 20-year-old assemblage pupil drowned successful a stream portion bathing with friends astatine Rajapuram connected Friday evening (March 13).
The deceased was identified arsenic V.M. Ashwin Raj, 20, lad of Ravindran and Girija of Thonikkal, Karakkode. He was a third-year BSc pupil of St. Pius X College, Rajapuram.
According to the police, Ashwin, aft finishing a bath, jumped into the stream to retrieve a bucket but was carried distant by the currents.
Though locals brought him ashore and rushed him to hospital, helium could not beryllium saved.
