Student-designed craft took to the skies arsenic AeroIgnite 2026, a three-day national-level aeromodelling contention that brought unneurotic aspiring aerospace engineers from assorted institutions, concluded astatine JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU) present connected Friday.
Organised by AeroJC nether the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SJCE, the lawsuit attracted 23 teams, each showcasing fixed-wing radio-controlled craft designed and built wholly by students.
The item of the contention was the flying rounds held astatine the KSCA Cricket Ground connected the assemblage campus. Teams undertook a precision ngo that progressive aerially dropping play balls into a designated 5-metre-by-5-metre people area.

Team Dhanush from Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology secured archetypal spot and won a currency prize of ₹15,000. Team AeroMIT from Manipal Institute of Technology claimed the 2nd prize on with a currency grant of ₹10,000, portion Team AeroVeloce from R.V. College of Engineering finished 3rd and received a currency prize of ₹5,000.
The winners were selected aft a broad appraisal of their craft design, engineering innovation, method reports, and formation show during the competition.
