The Karnataka State Disabled and Caregivers Federation (KSDCF), affiliated to the National Platform for Rights of the Disabled (NPRD), has called for a State-level protest at Freedom Park on October 8, demanding a minimum monthly pension of ₹10,000 for persons with disabilities.
The federation criticised some the Centre and State governments for neglecting the rights and payment of disabled citizens, contempt soaring surviving costs and promises of societal justice.
The KSDCF pointed retired that neighbouring States specified arsenic Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Delhi connection higher disablement pensions, portion Karnataka has failed to supply meaningful support. The charter of demands includes imperishable jobs for VRWs, MRWs and URWs, lodging and tract allotment, autobus passes, occupation reservations successful backstage sector, enhanced caregiver allowance, escaped healthcare, and due implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
