The State authorities has accorded support for roadworthy repair and renewal works worthy ₹106.14 crore successful the Coimbatore Corporation limits, covering 1,847 roads.

In a statement, Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran said the works are being taken up to fortify roadworthy infrastructure crossed the East, West, North, South and Central zones of the Corporation for nationalist use.

He recalled that the Chief Minister had earlier sanctioned ₹200 crore for the renewal of 3,456 damaged and earthen roads, spanning astir 503.67 km, wrong the Corporation limits. Following this allocation, works connected 3,229 roads, covering 467.72 km, person been completed. Repair works connected the remaining 227 roads, with a full magnitude of 37.03 km, are presently nether way, and steps are being taken to guarantee their completion by January 31, 2026.

The Commissioner said the Corporation had sought further funds totalling ₹217 crore for roadworthy repair works, of which projects worthy astir ₹100 crore were prioritised based connected requirements.

Under the further allocation present approved, administrative authorisation has been granted for the renewal of 1,847 roads with a combined magnitude of 254.54 km astatine an estimated outgo of ₹106.14 crore. The Commissioner said the works would commence soon and that each roadworthy repair works would beryllium completed expeditiously to guarantee uninterrupted nationalist movement.
