SSUS V-C cancels files approved by former V-C

Ciza Thomas, Vice-Chancellor (V-C) of Sree Sankaracharaya University of Sanskrit (SSUS), has directed the Registrar to cancel each files approved by erstwhile V-C K.K. Geethakumary aft the notification issued by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar removing her from the station came into effect.

Dr. Geethakumary was removed with contiguous effect by the Governor, who is besides the Chancellor of State universities, done a notification issued connected March 5. The bid was reportedly issued astir 4 p.m. The Save University Campaign Committee (SUCC) had lodged a ailment earlier Dr. Thomas, alleging that astir 40 files were approved by the erstwhile V-C aft the notification was issued.

A preliminary enquiry showed that Prof. Geethakumary had approved the files aft the bid removing her from the station came into force. Dr. Thomas had asked Registrar Mothi George to behaviour a probe connected the ailment and initiate follow-up action. It is learnt that the Registrar submitted a study stating that the files were cleared by the erstwhile V-C.

Prof. Geethakumary said connected Friday (March 27, 2026) that she came crossed the Governor’s notification astir 4.45 p.m connected March 5. She added that determination were pending files, and that she had cleared them till 6.45 p.m.
