Six-year-old girl hospitalised after alleged torture by aunt in Vijayawada

A six-year-old miss was allegedly beaten by her aunt astatine Kattubadipalem colony successful NTR District. Villagers alerted the Village Sachivalayam and WD&CW staff, who rescued the miss and admitted her to the Government General Hospital (GGH) successful Vijayawada.

According to reports, the household migrated from Bihar 20 days ago, and the aunt allegedly bushed the orphan miss severely for refusing to spell to work.

Mahila Police, Shrutilaya, and the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) of NTR District rescued the girl, said Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairperson K. Suvartha.

“The miss was suffering from aggregate injuries to her caput and different parts of her body. Specialised Adoption Agency Manager B. Deepika and DCPU serviceman Rajeshwara Rao were instructed to show the girl’s wellness condition,” Ms. Suvartha told The Hindu connected Tuesday (April 7, 2026).

A ailment has been lodged with the G. Konduru police, and the Women Development and Child Welfare (WD&CW) Department has been directed to inquire into the family’s presumption and different details of the girl, the CWC chairperson said.

“CWC has ordered the DCPU, Anganwadi, and Sachivalayam unit to taxable a Social Investigation Report (SIR) connected the girl’s family. All measures are being taken to supply amended attraction to the girl,” Mr. Rajeshwara Rao said.
