Seven college students arrested for planning to attack group and creating nuisance at railway station

The Government Railway Police (GRP), Arakkonam arrested 7 students of Presidency College who had gathered unlawfully astatine Arakkonam Railway Station with a program to onslaught Pachiayappa’s assemblage students, too creating nuisance to the public. 

According to police, astatine 6 a.m. connected Friday, astir 10 students gathered and discussed a program to onslaught a radical of students from Pachiayappa’s assemblage earlier Pongal. They called others to articulation them successful a procession connected the platform, promoting enmity and hatred. Since they were causing nuisance to others successful the platform, the GRP constabulary unit connected work intercepted them.

The pack comprised of contiguous students and erstwhile students of Presidency College. A fewer of them escaped erstwhile the constabulary surrounded them. Police apprehended 7 including a juvenile. The apprehended were identified arsenic R. Ragupathi, 20, R.Sivapathi, 21, K. Naveen Kumar, 20, S.Ragul, 18, Vishwa, 19, Siva, 19 and a 17-year-old. 

They person been charged with unlawful assembly, promoting enmity and causing nuisance to the public. Six of them were remanded to judicial custody, said police.
