The Lokayukta constabulary connected Tuesday trapped a elder wellness inspector of the Greater Bengaluru Authority portion allegedly accepting a bribe for issuing a commercialized licence to a pharmacy owner.

According to Lokayukta officials, the accused, Shrijesh N.K., 52, a elder wellness inspector attached to the Chickpet part astatine Sajjan Rao Circle, had allegedly demanded ₹15,000 from a pharmacy proprietor for processing and issuing a commercialized licence.

The complainant, Nanjegowda B.S., 41, who runs a pharmacy concern successful Devarachikkanahalli, approached the Lokayukta alleging that the authoritative had sought a bribe.

Officials said the accused had already accepted ₹5,000 connected June 15 and demanded the remaining amount.

Based connected the complaint, the Lokayukta registered a lawsuit nether Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and laid a trap.

The accused was allegedly caught red-handed portion accepting the remaining ₹10,000 from the complainant.

He has been arrested nether PC enactment and further probe is on.
