A Thiruppavai–Thiruvempavai recitation contention was organised by SASTRA Deemed University connected Sunday astatine its main field successful Thanjavur and astatine the Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre successful Kumbakonam. The nonsubjective of the contention was to instil ethical values and spiritual reasoning among students portion providing a level to showcase their innate talents, the organisers said.
At the main campus, students from implicit 20 schools successful Thanjavur and neighbouring areas participated. Srirangam Shri Raman Balaji Bhattachariyar and Thanjavur Sivasri Sivanesan Othuvar were the main guests and judges. In the elder category, T. Santoshi of Sir Sivasamy Iyer Government Aided Higher Secondary School, Thirukattupalli, won the archetypal prize of ₹3,000. In the inferior category, M. Venugasree of Kalyanasundaram Government Aided Higher Secondary School secured the archetypal prize. All participants received a currency inducement of ₹500. Prizes were distributed by Professor Venugopal of SASTRA University.
At the Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre, students from implicit 17 schools took part. Madhavan Oduvar served arsenic justice and distributed prizes to winners successful some categories.
