The Salem Railway Division of Southern Railway celebrated the 156th commencement day of Mahatma Gandhi connected Thursday (October 2, 2025).
The events began with the offering of ‘Shramdhaan’ connected the premises of the divisional office. Led by Panna Lal, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), and R. Saravanan, Additional DRM, officials and unit engaged successful cleaning activities astatine the DRM bureau to item the value of cleanliness.
Mr. Lal paid floral tributes to the representation of Mahatma Gandhi astatine the Salem Junction and administered the cleanliness pledge to the railway fraternity and passengers. The cleaning unit and different railway unit were honoured for their work and meritorious show during the Swachhata Hi Seva (Cleanliness is Service) campaign, which was held from September 17 to October 2. The DRM awarded certificates to them, appreciating their efforts, and besides distributed saplings.
