Over 100 agrarian improvement section unit staged a objection adjacent Dindigul Collectorate connected Wednesday pressing for their 16-point charter of demands. The protesters held banners and raised slogans urging the State authorities to fulfill their demands.
These demands included expanding the monthly wage of sanitary workers to ₹10,000 and ensuring that it was paid to them done the panchayat. Similarly, for the overhead h2o vessel operators, a wage of ₹15,000 should beryllium paid, they said.
The members of People’s Welfare Workers’ Association demanded work regularisation of these workers including, sanitary workers, overhead vessel operators, sanitation guards, machine assistants, panchayat secretaries, and wellness artifact coordinators.
